Praise God. Today's inspired word to live by is Jesus. Jesus. Jesus my best friend. You say, "You mean to tell me that Jesus can be not just savior and lord, but a friend?" Oh yes. The Bible tells us that he is a friend that sticks closer than any brother. You see, while on earth, Jesus ministered and dealt with people on five different levels. The first level was where he ministered to the multitudes. They came to eat and to be healed.
Then he ministered to the 70 which he sent out to preach, cast out devils, and heal the sick. And then he had the 12 which he surrounded himself with and called them apostles. And then he set aside the three Peter, James and John, which he took with him everywhere he went to perform miracles, because he was training them to literally do what He did.
But then we have the one, his name was John. John didn't want his power as much as he wanted Jesus' heart. That's why we see in the last supper John leaning on his bosom, leaning on his heart. He was after the heart of Jesus. And whenever you are after the heart of Jesus, Jesus will become your friend. Many people want his power. Many people want his prestige.
Many people want his name and just the association with him so that they can do something for God and look good before people. But when you want his heart, he will become a friend to you that will stick closer than any brother.
Jesus. Jesus. Jesus, my best friend. I hope you make him yours.
