Hi! I'm baaaaaack! And I've got some stories for ya! Per usual, I am just barely hitting the tail end of a deadline with some important people I want to talk about in honor of Black History Month.

Bessie Coleman: Queen Bess was the FIRST Black and Indigenous woman to earn her pilot's license. Another thing? She was a stunt flyer! This incredible woman did all the flips and swoops and things!

Eunice Hunton Carter: the inspiration behind one of the characters of "Boardwalk Empire". Mrs. Carter was the first Black woman prosecutor for New York County. She also established and was responsible for building most of the case that brought down Mafia Boss "Lucky" Luciano.

Bad, bad, bad boss women to inspire us all is just how I want to start this podcasting year!

Correction: In the podcast, I say "Boardwalk Empire" debuted in 1914 - that's crazy talk - I meant 2014!

  • Heat Hate & Riot Love

On June 28, 1969, officers walked into beloved gay bar & safe haven, Stonewall Inn and announced “POLICE! WE’RE TAKING THE PLACE!”
The gay community was used to being terrorized by cops, but that night, they were also done with it.

I love this piece of gay history - The Stonewall Riots & am very excited for this story time.

Hi besties! I missed this! I missed YOU! But I’m back & eager to take you down the rabbit hole of random with me!
In honor of spooky season, October, Hispanic Heritage Month & all things “etc.” I thought it would be fitting to find some Latin urban legends to share with you.
On this episode, we’ll talk about the sweet bride, La Pasqualita, desperate murderer El Cuco (you may remember him fondly as El Cucuy) & the spoiled evil of El Silbón. We shall have a chitchat while Otto is enjoying old episodes of “Bones” in the background (sorry for that noise!)
    Stay random!!

Please review, download & leave lots of stars!! I promise I get better

  • Episode 109: No Pants Dance for Creepy Ghost Ladies
    2020/09/18
Being jobless has me missing my half nekked coworkers. I also bring you on my creepy internet spiral with some Texas urban legends: Ghostly Nurse of Bexar County, The Lady of the Lake & The Candy Lady. What is it that makes women the main event of most urban legends? Probably the oppression.

  • Episode 107: Late To The Party But I'm Still Proud
    2020/07/07
I completely missed Pride Month because I was so busy yelling at 2020. But, I couldn't let my love and fascination with the Stonewall Riots stay quiet. I talk about what it was, what it meant, what it led to and the legacies Stonewall created. Trust me when I say it's amazing and lovely.
