Jehovah’s Witnesses are well known for offering free Bible studies. At first, it may seem simple: a friendly conversation, a Bible discussion, and a message of hope.
But what many people may not realize is that the Bible study is not just a casual conversation. It can be the beginning of a process that leads into a worldwide religious organization with a leadership structure, a chain of command, and a small group of men at the top known as the Governing Body.
In this Hidden Struggles short documentary, we look at what Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t always explain before the Bible study begins. Using an airplane illustration, we examine why people deserve to know who is directing the route before they agree to come onboard.
This episode is not about attacking sincere Jehovah’s Witnesses. Many are kind, loving, and truly believe they are helping people. This video is about helping people understand the system behind the study, the authority structure behind the message, and why informed choices matter.
In the next video, we’ll take a closer look at the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses — who they are, the authority they hold, and why Jehovah’s Witnesses are expected to follow their direction, even when that direction changes.
