  • When Everyone Wants to Talk About Cancer with Dr. JC Doornick
    2026/08/06

Cancer has a way of entering the room before the person does.

It becomes the headline. The first question. The detail people return to, even when there is still an entire human being sitting in front of them.

But one circumstance does not get to become your whole identity.

In this deeply personal episode of Jam Sessions with Tina Eliana, Tina sits down with Dr. JC Doornick for a conversation about what remains yours when life changes without permission—and who you are still becoming when the path no longer looks the way you planned.

Dr. JC Doornick, widely known as “The Dragon,” is an author, speaker, coach, and host of the Rise Up With Dragon podcast. Through his work, including Makes Sense Academy and his book Makes Sense, he challenges people to examine the stories they have accepted, the beliefs directing their choices, and the way they respond when life refuses to follow the script.

This is not a conversation that reduces JC to a diagnosis. It is a conversation about identity, intentional leadership, family, fear, attention, purpose, personal growth, and the choices that remain available when circumstances change.

Tina and JC explore questions such as:

    • What happens when a diagnosis becomes the headline of your life?
    • How do you protect your identity when people begin relating to you primarily through what happened to you?
    • What does intentional leadership look like inside a family when familiar roles shift?
    • Can optimism be honest without pretending pain, fear, and uncertainty do not exist?
    • How do you decide what deserves your attention?

Their conversation moves beyond surface-level inspiration and into the more complicated territory beneath it: the vulnerability inside strength, the responsibility we carry for our influence, the difference between controlling circumstances and choosing a response, and the courage required to remain open and curious.

This episode is for anyone navigating a cancer diagnosis, serious illness, unexpected life change, family transition, identity shift, or season that has disrupted the future they thought they understood. It is also for caregivers, spouses, parents, leaders, and friends trying to support someone they love without allowing one circumstance to swallow the entire person.

You do not need a formal title to lead through uncertainty. Leadership can look like choosing how you enter a difficult room, allowing someone else to carry what you usually carry, protecting your attention, staying present with the people you love, and continuing to become the person you decided to be.

  • How to Recognize Your Everyday Leadership with Julie Lokun
    2026/07/28

How often do we overlook our own leadership because no one has given it a title?

And what changes when someone recognizes what is already within us before we are ready to claim it for ourselves?

In Season 1, Episode 4 of Jam Sessions With Tina Eliana, host Tina Eliana sits down with Julie Lokun, JD, for “How to Recognize Your Everyday Leadership.” It’s a personal conversation about self-trust, courage, judgment, vulnerability, belief, influence, and the leadership we may be practicing long before we recognize it.

Because leadership does not suddenly appear with a promotion, platform, or permission.

Julie Lokun is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, podcaster, and founder of The Mediacasters, an omni-media company that helps entrepreneurs and creatives amplify their voices through podcasting, publishing, and public speaking.

She is also the founder of Cre8tive Con and co-founder, with Dr. JC Doornick, of Dragonfly Podcast Academy, where entrepreneurs learn to launch, grow, and monetize podcasts.

Julie is also one of the people who recognized Tina’s potential and believed in her message before Tina fully understood where it could lead. That history adds another layer of honesty as they explore what it means to see leadership in someone else—and finally recognize it in yourself.

Julie speaks candidly about when living according to everyone else’s expectations was no longer sustainable. She and Tina also examine instincts, emotion, sound judgment, and moments when confidence does not protect us from a blind spot.

Tina and Julie explore questions that reach far beyond a job title:

    • What does everyday leadership look like before anyone calls it leadership?
    • How much can one person’s belief change another person’s direction?
    • What role should emotion play in leadership and business decisions?
    • Why can intelligent, capable people still miss what is happening in front of them?
    • How do shame and self-blame affect us after a blind spot?

There are moments of laughter, reflection, and vulnerability that may make you reconsider where you have been leading without realizing it—and where you may still be waiting for permission you no longer need.
