    In Episode 52 of Ancient Roots of Life and Wellness, JT and Josh continue their study of the Gospel of Nicodemus and finally enter one of its most fascinating sections: the Descent into Hades.

    The ancient account describes the patriarchs and prophets waiting in darkness as a brilliant light suddenly appears, John the Baptist announces the coming of Christ, and even Hades begins to fear what will happen when Jesus enters his realm.

    This episode of Ancient Roots of Life & Wellness goes straight at some of the most quoted—and most misunderstood—passages in Scripture.

    JT and Josh examine what happens when verses like Philippians 4:13, Jeremiah 29:11, “judge not,” and Christ's warning that “one will be taken and the other left” are put back into their surrounding context.

    Was Paul really promising that Christians can accomplish anything they set their minds to? Does “judge not” mean believers can never identify sin? And perhaps most provocatively: when Jesus says one person is “taken” and another is “left,” are we sure we actually want to be the one taken?

    The conversation also explores Ecclesiastes, the meaning of “new heavens and a new earth,” biblical cosmology, Genesis, light and darkness, the harvest imagery of Revelation, and the popular Left Behind interpretation of prophecy.

    Then JT and Josh continue their study through the Gospel of Nicodemus, examining its account of Joseph of Arimathea and asking how this ancient text fits alongside the larger gospel narrative.
