  • Research Software Engineering - Matt Williams

    Huw Day and James Thomas from the JGI talk to Dr Matt Williams from the Advanced Computing Research Centre. Matt did his PhD in Particle Physics at the University of Warwick, working on computations for the Large Hadron Collider. After a pit stop at the University of Birmingham, he now works as a Research Software Engineer as part of the Advanced Computing Research Centre at the University of Bristol. He delivers coding courses to students across the university, supports postgraduate researchers in using software in their own work and is President of the Society of Research Software Engineering.

  • Data Hazards and Digital Phenotyping - Nina Di Cara
    2024/01/25

    Huw Day and Léo Gorman from the JGI talk to Dr Nina Di Cara about Data Hazards and Digital Phenotyping. Nina has a background in social care and has a PhD in Public Health, where her work focussed on understanding whether digital footprints are an effective way to track mental health. She now works as a postdoctoral researcher in Mental Health Data Science here at the University of Bristol and co-organises the Data Ethics Club and the Data Hazards project.
