  • Its YOUR Birth Day! Podcast Episode 82 - The Gift of Exploring YOUR Attachment Style with Dr. Charity Godfrey

    Send a text

    Hey Friend,

Do you ever find yourself confused by the way you respond in your relationships?

Why do some of us seek reassurance when things feel uncertain, while others instinctively pull back or need space? Why do certain moments in relationships feel so activating?

In today’s episode of the It’s YOUR Birth Day Podcast, we explore The Gift of Knowing Your Attachment Style with a fellow therapist, Dr. Charity Godfrey who helps us gently unpack how our early relational experiences can shape how we connect today. This conversation truly could have been a day workshop. Don’t let that scare you, friend. It is full of life changing aha moments. Pull up a cup of tea or coffee and settle in. It’s a warm conversation we want you to join.

The idea of attachment was first introduced by psychologist John Bowlby and later expanded through the research of Mary Ainsworth. Their work helped explain something many of us experience but don’t always have language for — the patterns we bring into our relationships (aka- how we behave in relationships).

Learning about attachment styles isn’t about giving ourselves a label.

It’s about gaining insight and compassion for ourselves and for others.

Because when we understand our patterns, we create space for something new: more awareness, possibly new choices, and deeper connection.

    That’s the gift.

    A gentle reflection for today:

When I feel most triggered in a relationship, what do I tend to do — move closer, pull away, or protect myself in another way?

  • It's YOUR Birth Day! Podcast Episode 81 - "The Gift of LOVE!"
    2026/03/05

    Send a text

    Hello friend,

We talk about love a lot in this world.
But most of what we’ve been taught about love is incomplete.

Love is often framed as romance, sacrifice, loyalty, or endurance.
As something we prove. Something we earn. Something we give away—sometimes at our own expense.

In today’s episode of the It’s YOUR Birth Day Podcast, we explore The Gift of Love through a different lens.

Not love as performance. Not love as a depletion. But love as a practice.

    Love as:

    • how we speak to ourselves when we fall short
    • how we allow ourselves to rest without justification
    • how we stop confusing overgiving with connection

For many women, love became tied to being needed, helpful, or “good enough.” And if that resonates, we want you to hear this gently and clearly:

There is nothing wrong with you for feeling tired around love.
You were taught a version that asked too much of you.

In this episode, we talk about:

    • how our earliest experiences shaped the way we give and receive love
    • the difference between love and self-abandonment
    • why receiving love can feel uncomfortable (and how to soften into it)
    • what loving yourself actually looks like on ordinary, imperfect days

A reflection to sit with today:
Where in your life are you offering correction when love would be more healing?

If you’re craving a place to practice this kind of love—toward yourself and alongside others—we created our courses and community with exactly that intention. Not to fix you. Not to push you. But to walk with you as you reconnect to yourself in a way that feels honest and sustainable. • It's YOUR Birth Day! Season, 3 Podcast Episode 80 The Gift of a Break Up

    The Gifts of A Breakup

    Hey Friend,

Today on the It’s YOUR Birth Day Podcast, we’re talking about The Gifts of a Break Up—and we want to say this first:

If you’re in the middle of one right now, this episode is not about silver linings or rushing your healing.

It’s about helping you feel seen, steady, and less alone.

In this episode, we gently explore:

    • Why breakups hit our nervous system so deeply
    • How clarity often comes after the ending
    • The reconnection to self that can happen when someone else is no longer centered
    • Why boundaries are often learned the long way
    • And how grief, when honored, can actually deepen us

We also talk about what not to do after a breakup—like rushing healing, rewriting history, or letting an ending define your worth.

    If you’re grieving:
Please know—you don’t have to be okay.
You just have to be honest.

Sometimes a breakup is life saying, “There is more for you—but not this way.”

And even in the middle of heartbreak…
This is still YOUR Birth Day.

    With care,
    Helene & Christina 🤍
