  • It's YOUR Birth Day! Podcast Episode 83 - "Gifts From Grandma Jean"
    2026/05/04

    Hey Friend,

There are people in our lives whose presence becomes a quiet guide long after they’re gone.

In this week’s episode of It’s YOUR Birth Day, we’re sharing “Gifts from Grandma Jean.”

Grandma Jean was the kind of woman who didn’t need to be loud to be deeply impactful. She carried a gentle confidence — the kind that made people feel seen, safe, and valued simply by being in her presence.

She loved her family fully and freely. She noticed people — truly noticed them — and never missed a chance to offer help or extend kindness. She believed something many of us struggle with: that receiving matters just as much as giving.

One of her quiet teachings was the importance of accepting a “thank you.” Not brushing it off. Not minimizing it . But rather, allowing it in — as a moment of connection, acknowledgment, and shared humanity.

And perhaps her most enduring wisdom: “With sadness, there is gladness.”

Not as a way to dismiss hard moments, but as a reminder that life holds both, always. .Grief and gratitude. Loss and love. Heartache and hope — existing side by side.

In this episode, we reflect on the simple yet powerful ways Grandma Jean lived — and how her way of being can invite us to slow down, soften, and show up differently in our own lives:

✨ Where might you allow yourself to receive today?✨ Who in your life has shaped you in quiet, meaningful ways?✨ Can you hold both the sadness and the gladness in this season?

If this message resonates, we invite you to listen, reflect, and perhaps carry forward one small “gift” into your day and share the gifts by giving this episode to others.

    With warmth,

    H&C

  • It's YOUR Birth Day! Podcast Episode 82 -"The Gift of Knowing YOUR Needs"
    2026/04/15

    Hi friend,

What if your needs weren’t something to feel guilty about…but instead, a gift?

In this week’s episode of It’s YOUR Birth Day, we’re exploring The Gift of Exploring YOUR Needs—because so many of us have spent years tuning into everyone else, while slowly tuning ourselves out.

Needs can feel… complicated. We may ignore them. Minimize them. Or not even know what they are anymore.

But here’s the truth: YOUR needs are not too much. They are not inconvenient. They are information. They are guidance. They are yours.

In this episode, we gently walk through:

    • Why it can feel so hard to identify our needs

    • How we learned to disconnect from them

    • Simple ways to begin listening again

    • And how honoring your needs is a powerful act of self-trust

This is not about getting it perfect. It’s about getting curious.

✨ What do I need today?✨ What feels nourishing… and what feels draining?✨ Where can I begin to choose myself, even in small ways?

If this resonates, we invite you to listen in. Let it be a soft place to land—and a starting point for reconnecting with you.

And if you’re ready to go deeper, our course The Gift of YOUR Retreat – Rediscovering You is designed to help you slow down, reconnect inward, and begin honoring what you truly need in this season of your life. • Its YOUR Birth Day! Podcast Season 3 Episode 81 - The Gift of Exploring YOUR Attachment Style with Dr. Charity Godfrey
    2026/03/12

    Send a text

    Hey Friend,

Do you ever find yourself confused by the way you respond in your relationships?

Why do some of us seek reassurance when things feel uncertain, while others instinctively pull back or need space? Why do certain moments in relationships feel so activating?

In today’s episode of the It’s YOUR Birth Day Podcast, we explore The Gift of Knowing Your Attachment Style with a fellow therapist, Dr. Charity Godfrey who helps us gently unpack how our early relational experiences can shape how we connect today. This conversation truly could have been a day workshop. Don’t let that scare you, friend. It is full of life changing aha moments. Pull up a cup of tea or coffee and settle in. It’s a warm conversation we want you to join.

The idea of attachment was first introduced by psychologist John Bowlby and later expanded through the research of Mary Ainsworth. Their work helped explain something many of us experience but don’t always have language for — the patterns we bring into our relationships (aka- how we behave in relationships).

Learning about attachment styles isn’t about giving ourselves a label.

It’s about gaining insight and compassion for ourselves and for others.

Because when we understand our patterns, we create space for something new: more awareness, possibly new choices, and deeper connection.

    That’s the gift.

    A gentle reflection for today:

When I feel most triggered in a relationship, what do I tend to do — move closer, pull away, or protect myself in another way?
