    2025/05/07

The heroes journey, a classic, but how is this relevant to finding your dharma, and yoga itself. Well, Alex goes tells you about both the Mahabharata and The Bhagavad Gita, classic yoga texts that teach about dharma, and so much more within tales of mythology.

There are similar storylines in familiar movies and books and Alex explores the benefits of reading fiction and how they can help you move towards your own purpose in life.

The second part of The Conversation Series with Dianna Baptista

It brings me so much joy to share this conversation with you!

We touch on Dharma, our current topic, but it's so more than that.

Dianna and I, both local yoga teachers in Norwich, connected pretty soon after she moved here. Dianna is a yoga teacher and business woman it's hard not to respect and admire. We've worked in the same studio for years, share stories, dreams, aspirations and similar frustrations. Both Pisces, both scorpio rising (take from that what you will), but we could chat for hours, and this conversation could keep going.

This experience meant a lot to me, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Dianna will be talking in the Guest Speaker Tent at the Norwich Yoga Festival on 2nd August 2025. Come find us.

  • Episode 17: It's Actually Hot, Don't Take A Jacket
    2025/04/28

Refresh on feeling discomfort and sitting in it as it passes. Creating change in bite sized and controllable chunks and noticing how quickly the brain readjusts.

Alex also discusses how hard change is if you romanticise what was, and how it's then easy to fall back on old habits and behaviours.

    Journalling:

    1. Write a letter to past you, telling your past self all the incredible things you've over come, been through and succeeded at.
    2. Write a list of all the things you've achieved in the past week/ month/ year.

Today Alex talks about noticing how you feel in your body when there is discomfort, ways we can learn this in controlled environments, and then what to do with the information. The journey towards figuring out what you want from life may involve a lot of change, so noticing when things get uncomfortable is a power thing to have in your arsenal.

    2025/04/08

Change can be tough, and none of what I discuss on this episode should be taken lightly. Changing dynamics in relationships can happen naturally, but sometimes it takes a lot of looking at our own behaviour before changing anything with others. Go softly, go slowly, be kind, always.
