Episode Three - Who have two thumbs and love talking about books? Courtnei & Steve!

Join Courtnei and Steve, two very chatty librarians who can and will talk about anything and everything, especially books, as they try to stay on topic with some help from the mysterious Erin.

We apologize to your eardrums for the rockin’ start to this episode. In their third episode, Steve and Courtnei are back to yap about life and books, or is it Steve and Erin, who knows (certainly not Steve). Steve talks about his sourdough hustle and how we should bring back bartering. Courtnei is still living in her sports era and is ready for the WNBA playoffs to start (although they will be done by the time you listen to this). Once they finally get down to the books Steve shares some bummers, and Courtnei finally read the last Dungeon Crawler Carl book. But the best part (or at least the funniest part) is when Steve talks about his reading experience reading one of Courtnei’s favorite books, “Funny Story” by Emily Henry, a book that’s not not about Courtnei. Tune into the podcast for all of the yapping and laughing! And check out the next episode to see what book Steve picked for Courtnei to read.

    2026/09/10

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Episode Two - Courtnei Listens to a Man’s (Steve’s) Opinion for Once

Join Courtnei and Steve, two very chatty librarians who can and will talk about anything and everything, especially books, as they try to stay on topic with some help from the mysterious Erin.

In their second episode, Steve shares that competitive boxing just isn’t for him, and Courtnei is still deep in her women’s sports era. And of course Steve shares a few more bummer books, and Courtnei shares a few not-so-bummer books before they dive deep into the novel that almost everyone is reading or has read, Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. Tune in to the next episode to see if Steve was able to get all of his thoughts out in one episode, or not.

    Books:

    • Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
    • Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges
    • The Word for World is Forest by Ursula K. Le Guin

    Steve’s Book Club [Bummers] Books:

    • November TBD
      • The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow
    • December 6th
      • The Overstory by Richard Powers

    Notes & Corrections:

You were almost right, Courtnei; the novel “Hard Copy: A Story of Girl Meets a Printer” was originally published in Dutch. Oh, and it’s Louis “Studs” Terkel. He got the nickname “Studs” (the name of the character he portrayed) when he was in a play with another actor named Louis.

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

In their first episode, Courtnei and Steve chat about their summers so far, what they’ve been getting up to, and, of course, what they've read!

The Colour of Magic - Terry Pratchett

Seeing Like a State - James C. Scott

    Money - Zola

Dungeon Crawler Carl - Matt Dinniman
