Isaiah 55:1–7 is God’s gracious invitation to everyone who is thirsty: come and receive what only he can give, freely and abundantly. Yet the invitation also calls us to turn from empty pursuits, seek the Lord while he may be found, and return to him in repentance. The promise is extraordinary—when we return to the Lord, we find not reluctant acceptance, but abundant mercy and pardon.
