In this Climate Chat episode, we interview interview climate scientist Chris Parker about climate change risks and have a discussion on the risks of doing solar-geoengineering (a.k.a, Sunlight Reflection Methods or Solar Radiation Management (SRM)) vs. the risks of not doing it. Chris Parker is a climate scientist and hydrologist specialising in translating global and UK climate projection data into practical risk assessments for government, regulators, and infrastructure providers. He was formerly Climate and Data Lead for the UK's Fourth Climate Change Risk Assessment – Independent Assessment (CCRA4-IA) at the UK Climate Change Committee, where he authored the national climate framing and led the Climate Chapter of the 'Well-Adapted UK' report. Over a 14-year career spanning engineering consultancy and the CCC, he specializes in bottom-up, adaptation-focused approaches to assessing climate risk at local and regional scale.
