Investors are pushing back on Nscale's IPO. Bloomberg reports that the Nvidia-backed data center company has aimed for a valuation of about $30 billion, while a group of investors urged $16–19 billion. The Telegraph reports that Microsoft pulled out of Nscale's planned site in Loughton, Essex, where grid power may not arrive until the 2030s. Nscale's filing shows about $103 billion in contracts, around 85% of it from Microsoft and Anthropic, with only about $2.6 billion active at the end of August. Then: Schwab and JPMorgan are blocking outside AI agents from moving customer money, and Schwab's CEO asks who's liable when something goes wrong. Anthropic commits 5% of its shares to a public-benefit fund, pending stockholder approval, with governance still to be announced. Meta removes AI-training language from its new business terms after publishers objected. Quick hits: Sam Altman says OpenAI will build a humanoid robot, and the OpenAI recording-device case is in court today. Every story is checked against its sources; links below. This show is written with Claude, Anthropic's model.
