A scant half-hour of outspoken spoken word and thrilling sound design, fiction/non-fiction, vintage/brand-new, voiced by a cast of thousands.

We interview everyone from international rock stars and producers to leading tech geeks; interpret political and cultural content from Wonkette.com; original comedy, satire and parody; improv; vintage sci-fi and contemporary speculative fiction. Space, time, questions, conversations, comedy...weird.

  • Part 2 of dystopian sci-fi story; HP Lovecraft on cats; Susan Collins campaign spot (?)
    2026/10/15
The satisfying finale of 1953 sci-fi dystopian classic, "Breathes There a Man." Futuristic gadgets, paranoia, totalitarian American government, robots and rebellion. Then New England's own HP Lovecraft with a skin-crawling subtle masterpiece about cats in part. Don't miss Susan Collins salty new campaign spot we feature here!

  • Mamdani Takes 70,000 to Opera; NPR Interviews Tucker Carlson
    2026/10/13
Some accuse Mamdani of socialist brainwashing and degrading the Metropolitan Opera with a new annual lottery for 70,000 free tickets to New Yorkers who want to see this spectacle—what’s really happening here? Then, somewhere in a barn in Maine, NPR interviews Tucker Carlson. We love NPR, but this softball interview was not their best work. If you don’t know Tucker, learn more of his odious views and public face here. Plus our satirical fauxmercials and a special clip of a twisted version of the Home Shopping Network, hosted by Becky Toothy-Soccermom.

Journalism from Wonkette; narrated and produced by Dan Bernard; Home Shopping sketch written and directed by Dan, featuring Hilary Aptowitz, Tom Walsh and Dan. Sketch produced by Michael Townend.

  • Seventy years on, vintage sci-fi dystopian classic "There Breathes a Man" rings true
    2026/10/08
Back in 1953, sci-fi writer Charles Fritch penned this dystopic tale eerily predictive of modern American life. As sci-fi often does, we are given glimmers of a world in which inventions we take for granted are innovative dreams; but the politics feel current. In this case, The Super State permeates every aspect of people's lives, dominates every industry, uses technology to track and correct people's daily lives, their thoughts and habits, according to its venal and corrupt ideas. But a resistance is afoot...can it survive?
