Good morning and welcome to Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem; the best little garden show this side of the high Sierra! Our phone lines were open for your gardening questions, and the calls did come in; you can learn about diagnosing sick junipers, or you could hear about how -- and why -- you would want to force some bulbs this coming winter. Among other musings by our host and callers.

Our program is heard live from 9 to 10 each Sunday morning on 810 KSFO and streaming on KSFO.com; this podcast is a reproduction of the live show, with musical interludes and certain advertising stripped out.

Welcome to Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem; the Bay Area's premiere radio talk show about organic gardening...!

Our format was taking calls from the audience this morning (no guest). We got a variety of calls, solving problems around the Bay Area for folks seeking to grow their gardens; Edie Tanem (and Ambrose the cat, too!) are on the air!

This podcast is a re-play of the live show, minus musical interludes and the bulk of the advertising. The show airs live each week on 810 KSFO and on KSFO.com streaming, from 9 until 10 each Sunday morning.

Our guest on Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem this morning is Saxon Holt, renowned garden photographer and subject expert on "summer dry" gardening, e.g., the type we have around the San Francisco Bay Area, for the most part. Saxon has a lot to say, and his pictures are pretty grand too!

Saxon Holt's book, Gardening in Summer-Dry Climates: Plants for a Lush Water Conscious Landscape, is out of print on Timber Press' dead trees, but is available as an eBook and often found where used books are sold.

Meanwhile, the authors' various websites are up and bursting with amazing photographs and lots of good information:

https://www.summerdy.com - the most current of the websites

https://wwwphotobotanic.com - beautiful garden photography across many years

https://saxonholt.com - the authors' personal website and blog

This podcast is the on-demand playback of this mornings' live radio show; Bob Tanem In The Garden with Edie Tanem is heard live each Sunday from 9 until 10 am San Francisco time, on 810 KSFO locally and streaming live on www.ksfo.com worldwide. This on-demand version has had musical bits and most advertising stripped out.
