    What does it truly mean to answer the call of God? There is a profound difference between showing up as a volunteer and stepping into the role of a kingdom laborer, and that difference changes everything. Drawing from Matthew 9:36-38, we are invited to see people the way Jesus saw them, not as a problem or a burden, but as a harvest waiting to be gathered. Jesus was not looking for more volunteers when he instructed his disciples to pray for more workers. He was calling for laborers, people who work with expectation, with purpose, and with the understanding that their labor is ultimately directed toward God himself. When we shift our thinking from simply doing good things to actively advancing the agenda of God's kingdom, something remarkable happens. Our work, our relationships, our businesses, and our ministries all begin to reflect a higher standard. Colossians 3:22-24 reminds us that when we do everything as unto the Lord rather than unto people, we position ourselves to receive a reward that goes far beyond any earthly paycheck. This is not a call to neglect our responsibilities in the world, but to elevate the spirit in which we carry them out.

    What does it really take to receive healing? The answer might surprise us. Drawing from the vivid account in Mark chapter 2, we explore the story of a paralyzed man whose four determined friends refused to let any obstacle stand between him and Jesus. When the crowd blocked the entrance, they climbed to the roof and broke through it. When Jesus saw what they did, the text says he saw their faith. That detail is worth sitting with: faith is something that can be seen. It shows up in our actions, our persistence, and our refusal to interpret closed doors as a sign to give up. This message challenges us to examine whether we approach God with that same passionate, unrelenting expectation, or whether we quietly accept circumstances as a signal that healing simply was not meant for us. The case studies woven throughout this message, from blind Bartimaeus to the woman with the issue of blood to the Syrophoenician woman, all point to the same truth: ordinary people who pursued Jesus with extraordinary persistence received extraordinary results. Faith is not passive. It moves, it speaks, and it sometimes makes a scene.
