COURAGE in the face of RESISTANCE...

Most can keep going if they face a little discouragement, or occasional resistance…

But what do most people do when they face continuous resistance in accomplishing a mission?... statistics show that 80 to 95% of people quit!

When we set out on a spiritual mission to complete the calling, ministry, and life that the Lord has called us to… We are guaranteed to meet continual resistance!.. the question is what will we do when that resistance comes? How do we handle it…how do we remain strong in the face of resistance and not quit on the mission the Lord has placed in front of us?

That’s the message in Nehemiah! This message will strengthen you, motivate you and move you to action to complete the calling and destiny The Lord has for you and your life! Don’t miss it!

COURAGE IN THE FACE OF FEAR!!!

What is courage? Many people falsely assume that to act with courage means you have no fear… the opposite is actually true!

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather still choosing to act and move forward in the face of fear!

So fear can either be a hurdle you jump over… Or it can be a hindrance that stops you!

What does the Bible have to say about fear and anxiety that wants to paralyze us and keep us from doing what God has called us to do?

What examples of courage do we see here in Nehemiah and in other places in scripture that serve as direct examples to us here in the 21st century culture in which we live?

What does fear most often do in your life?… and how can you overcome it so that you can step out into God’s calling in your life and act with COURAGE IN THE FACE OF FEAR!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LIVE THE “SALT LIFE”?

In the sermon on the mount, in Matthew 5, Jesus, gave the metaphor of comparing authentic Christ followers to salt and light.

Why would he do that? What is the significance in this passage and what does it mean for us today?

This is imperative that we not only understand this, but live it out! Because Jesus said if the salt loses its saltines… It’s good for nothing!… what is he referring to?

How can the salt of “the church“ lose it saltiness? What happens to society when the church loses it saltiness? How can we as authentic Christ followers use what we have learned in Romans 8 and respond to the challenge of Jesus now, in the culture in which we exist today, to “Live Salty”?

I WANT TO BE LIKE…CHRIST!

Years ago, Gatorade had a commercial with Michael Jordan and a bunch of kids with the theme “I want to be like Mike!“…the commercial showed images of Michael Jordan in action, and then all the kids on the basketball courts and playgrounds trying to imitate his style!

Romans 8 tells us that if we are authentically saved, we are being formed into the image of Christ!… the Bible tells us that we are to be imitators of Christ!…. What does this mean? What does this look like in the Christian life? 

What is sanctification?… It’s a word that’s thrown around briefly in some churches, but never adequately and fully explained. Tomorrow we take an in-depth dive into what sanctification looks like in the life of the believer, how the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out… And in this process, our desires begin to change, and we want to be imitators of Christ in our life!

Imagine these promises… If God is for us who can be against us?… we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us… Nothing can separate us from the love of God!

These promises are often quoted, but how often are they lived out in the Christian life?

WHAT IS GOD DOING IN YOU?
Through all the good times, and the bad times in life… What is God trying to accomplish in us and through us?… and are we allowing God to do everything he intends in our life?

Romans 8:28, one of the greatest promises in all of scripture… Is followed by Romans 8:29–30… One of the most controversial passages in all of scripture… but it should not be!

Because in these two verses, is again one of the greatest promises to the authentic follower of Christ! The words in these verses were not meant to be divisive and used by the enemy to separate the body of Christ… But rather to unify the body!.. its context intends to strengthen, encourage and solidify the sovereignty, security and relationship we have in Christ!

So we will see, through life’s journey (even the difficult times - Romans 8:28)…God is up to something big in your life! The question is… Will we give God the clay of our life so he can shape us and mold us into everything he created us to be!
