    The saying “beside every successful man, there is a woman” is a big understatement. In 2012, American Express reported that Women Owned Businesses generate nearly $1.3 trillion in revenues in the US each year. It also reported that between 1997 and 2012, when the number of businesses in the United States increased by 37%, the number of women-owned firms increased by 54%—a rate 1½ times the national average. Therefore the saying should be “within every successful economy, there are women running important ventures.” But that is the American story, what about Africa? How are women doing in business? How can we do better? In this episode of Impact Africa, we will “unleash the power” of women to move the continent forward through entrepreneurship. We will also be paying a rather different and interesting tribute to Nelson Mandela. You have to listen to this tribute!
