Pastor. Teacher. Bishop. Leader. Mother. Wife. Executive. These may describe what you do, but they don't define who you are.
In this episode of Let's Be Holy for Real, we're talking about identity beyond titles, positions, assignments, and recognition. What happens when the title changes, the assignment ends, or people don't acknowledge you the way you think they should? Do you still know who you are?
Before the title, you are His. You are a child of God. You are chosen. You are loved. And when your identity is rooted in Christ, you don't need a position, a platform, or the recognition of people to validate who God says you are.
So the question is: If the titles were stripped away, would you still know who you are?
What We Talk About:
- Your title tells us what you function as; it doesn't tell us who you are.
- Before you are anything to anybody else, you belong to God.
- Identity is received, not achieved. -People may recognize the gift, affirm the calling, or confirm what God is doing in your life, but they shouldn't be the source of your identity.
- Don't confuse people's response to your talent with God's approval of your life.
