  • 2: The Start to the School Year: Deeper Connections and Setting the Tone, Part 2 - Middle School
    2026/10/22

What happens when students step outside the classroom and take on new challenges together? In this we look at how Tower's middle school trips help students build friendships, develop confidence, and strengthen their class communities at the start of the school year.

Hear from three Tower teachers about the intentional experiences designed for each grade:

    • Sixth Grade with Webb Thompson: An outdoor leadership trip to Maine where students take risks, tackle team-building challenges, and discover new strengths.
    • Seventh Grade with Sig Orne: An overnight outdoor education experience that builds independence, trust, and collaboration.
    • Eighth Grade with Victoria Dosch: Three days of adventure, problem-solving, and cultural learning, including whitewater rafting, escape-room challenges, and connecting with Spanish-speaking students.

From unexpected friendships to moments of personal growth, these experiences show how learning beyond the classroom helps students develop the skills and resilience they carry throughout the school year and beyond.
