  • The Incident at the Red Mountain Motel — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/07
June 1999, outside Laramie, Wyoming. Luna’s car overheats on a back road, and she checks into the Red Mountain Motel—a tired roadside stop with flickering neon, cigarette-burned bedding, and a front desk clerk who doesn’t blink. The air smells like old grease and something metallic. That night, she hears a knock from the other side of the shared bathroom wall. A pattern. A voice. A woman named Miriam who says she’s been waiting for someone to listen. But the room next door has been boarded up since 1987, and the clerk denies anyone was ever there. What Luna finds in the gap behind the bathroom mirror—and what she takes with her—stays with her still. A story about isolation, memory, and the things we carry away from places we should never have found.

  • The Girl Who Slept in the Ash — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/06
Luna tells the story of a night in October 2017, when she stopped at a 24-hour laundromat in Elkhart, Indiana, and met a girl who had been living there for three weeks. The girl had no name, no phone, no past she could recall — only a strange habit of sleeping in the dryer, curled inside the drum, the door propped open with a shoe. Luna sat with her until dawn, listening to fragments of a story that felt less like memory and more like something whispering itself into being. The laundromat was warm and the lights flickered every time a certain song came on the radio. The girl said she was waiting for someone to find her, but she couldn't say who. When Luna left at sunrise, the girl was gone — and the dryer door was closed, the shoe missing. This episode is a quiet, slow-burn encounter with loneliness, forgetting, and the spaces between people who almost remember each other.

  • The Last Light at Wolf Creek General Store — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/05
September 2023, a Tuesday night just past midnight on a dead-end county road in eastern Oregon. A woman named Margie has run the Wolf Creek General Store for thirty-seven years, and she tells me about the regular who came in every night at the same time for a single can of beans and a newspaper from 1993. She never saw him leave, but the cans kept disappearing from the shelf, and the register drawer would open on its own at 1:17 AM. I drove out there to see for myself. The gravel lot was empty, the neon sign buzzing in the fog, and inside, the calendar on the wall was still pinned to October 1993. Margie poured me a cup of coffee that tasted like burnt dust and said, 'He's here now. Don't turn around.' This is a story about the things that stay because they have nowhere else to go — about a store that sells time in increments, and a man who never finished reading the obituaries.

  • The Night Beyond the Fence at Bitter Creek — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/04
In the winter of 2009, Luna spends a night at a roadside motel outside Bitter Creek, Wyoming. The motel clerk warns her not to walk past the fence line after dark. She doesn't listen. What she finds on the other side — a row of lit windows in a building that shouldn't exist, a woman pressing her palm to the glass, and a sound like wet paper tearing — becomes a story she can't stop telling. This episode is about the edge of things: the line between sleep and waking, between town and nothing, between the living and the still-breathing. No monsters. No blood. Just a night in December, a chain-link fence, and something that stood on the other side of it, watching her back.

  • The Hollow Men of Sand Coulee — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/03
In the winter of 2017, I drove through Sand Coulee, Montana — a town that doesn't appear on most maps. I was following a tip about a man named Emery Hatch, who had been calling a crisis hotline every night for three weeks, always asking the same thing: 'Can you tell me what's standing in my field?' The recordings were soft, patient, until the night he stopped calling. I went looking for him. I found a farmhouse with every window painted black from the inside, a ring of dead pine trees, and something that moved through the snow without leaving tracks. This is what I learned about the hollow men — not ghosts, not living, but waiting. And I think they're still there. I think they've always been there.

  • The Warden of Route 9 — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/02
October 2021. A cold night on a lonely stretch of highway in central Kansas, where the lights of the nearest town are forty miles behind you and the next gas station might as well be a mirage. Luna hears about a man who worked a little rest stop at the junction of Route 9 and County Road 14—a place that shouldn't exist after dark, staffed by someone who doesn't seem to need sleep. She talks to a trucker who stopped there once and can't stop thinking about the way the fluorescent lights hummed too evenly, the way the man behind the counter smiled with too many teeth, the way the coffee tasted like nothing. A story about what waits on the side of the road when you are the only one still driving. No one tells you about the warden. No one tells you that the road remembers every car that ever passed, and some of them never left.
