Sydney Supple is a former Northwestern softball standout who helped lead the Wildcats to the Women's College World Series in 2022, and earned three Big Ten titles during her career. After earning her master's degree in broadcast and digital journalism, she transitioned from competing on the field to covering the game behind the microphone. Working for the Big Ten Network, SiriusXM, and ESPN as an AUSL sideline reporter, her journey gives us a rare behind-the-scenes look at what the best athletes in the world are actually doing between at-bats and innings.
Episode Highlights:
- The breath and batter's box ritual Megan Grant taught her that changed how she thinks about the mental game
- The reset routine she used as a pitcher between every pitch
- How a flailing tube man reminded her to be "loose"
- The two-minute commercial break reset that mirrors the failure recovery routine
- How her parents’ freedom to choose kept her in the game today
