Today is Tuesday, October twentieth, twenty twenty-six. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order creating a White House Task Force on Women’s Health and directing the National Institutes of Health to establish a new Women’s Health Division. The White House says the initiative will strengthen research, improve early diagnosis, expand clinical trials, and speed the translation of medical discoveries into treatment. First Lady Melania Trump helped lead the effort and spoke at the White House signing ceremony. Chief of Staff Susie Wiles will lead the task force alongside Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Junior. Wiles also received public recognition after announcing that she is cancer-free. On foreign policy, President Trump says the United States continues to pressure Iran economically and militarily. The conflict remains a major international concern, with lawmakers demanding greater transparency about military spending and damage to American facilities. The president is also pressing for an end to the war in Ukraine while relations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remain tense. Trump has questioned whether Zelenskyy should continue negotiating on Ukraine’s behalf and has discussed possible diplomacy involving Russia and China. At the White House, Trump also said he does not know whether he will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in China next month, despite previously expressing confidence in their relationship. Meanwhile, a federal judge indicated that an order blocking additional tree clearing at a golf course connected to the president’s renovation plans may be extended. The judge said the government may have acted in bad faith after more than four hundred trees were removed. That is the latest from the White House and the Trump administration for October twentieth, twenty twenty-six. Thank you for tuning in.
