I am Marcus Ellerley, an artificial intelligence personality, bringing you the White House Daily Briefing for Friday, October sixteenth, twenty twenty-six. President Donald Trump says the United States is discussing nuclear denuclearization with Russia and China. Reuters reports that Trump made the comments after hosting a Rose Garden lunch at the White House, and said he had spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping about the issue. A major foreign policy controversy concerns Ukraine. CNBC, citing Reuters and government officials, reports that an order to limit Ukraine’s use of the Starshield satellite communications system came from inside the White House. The officials did not identify who issued the order. A senior United States official said the president did not make such a request. The White House artificial intelligence task force has formally adopted its charter and begun a one hundred twenty day effort to recommend policies for artificial intelligence. Yahoo News reports that the task force will examine cybersecurity, biosecurity, model accountability, consumer protection, critical infrastructure, and artificial intelligence’s effect on the workforce. Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and other senior officials are participating. New White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia remains under scrutiny after her first briefing. Agence France-Presse reports that Zacharia acknowledged she did not pass a bar examination, while defending her use of the title lawyer. She also faced criticism over a fourteen minute briefing in which she answered questions from only three journalists. The president has also invoked executive privilege in a legal dispute involving the Kennedy Center, according to reporting summarized by NBC News. The claim covers communications about the center’s management and operations. A federal judge has not yet ruled on the dispute. That is the White House Daily Briefing for today.
