🎙 In this episode of the 2 Worlds Collide Podcast, Anthony Khallouf is back in the studio, and this time we go through the Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026 line by line. Anthony explains why he believes this is the old Misinformation and Disinformation Bill with a new name, why "protecting kids" doesn't add up when under-16s are already off social media, and why the real threat isn't prison but having your reach throttled until your account is worthless.
We read the bill's actual wording on what counts as "harmful" content, including the catch-all clause that lets the government decide, and ask who qualifies as a "journalist" when podcasters and independent creators aren't listed. We also cover the minister's power over design features like share buttons, comments and DMs, and the section that lets the eSafety Commissioner and "approved researchers" run sock puppet accounts.
Anthony also revisits his viral video predicting exactly how the bill would be rushed through Parliament and ticks off how much of it has come true. We react to David Shoebridge calling for political messages to be throttled, look at the new risk-assessment red tape for small businesses, and ask the question every Australian should ask: would you trust your worst political enemy with these powers?
Finally, Anthony explains how to make a submission to the Senate inquiry before the bill is voted on.
