You know that voice in your head that worries, overthinks, compares, assumes, judges, replays things that already happened and occasionally tries to convince you that something is wrong when absolutely nothing has happened?
Yeah. Her. 😂
I call her my Inner Mean Girl—and she has a LOT to say.
In this episode of The Manifesting Formula, we're talking about the voice in your head, where some of those thoughts and beliefs come from, and why just because a thought came from your own mind doesn't mean it's true.
I'll share how my relationship with my own Inner Mean Girl has changed over the years, why she doesn't get out much anymore 😂, and how meditation helped me learn one of the most important things I know today:
I can notice a thought without having to follow it.
We'll also talk about the difference between feeling something and feeding it, the Buddhist teaching of the two arrows, and how we can unintentionally keep hurt, anger, fear or disappointment alive long after the original moment has passed.
And because this is The Manifesting Formula, we'll connect all of this back to your thoughts, your feelings, your energy—and what you're creating in your life.
You don't need to monitor every thought that enters your mind.
You don't need to fight with your Inner Mean Girl.
And you definitely don't need to believe everything she tells you.
Because if it isn't coming from love...
it's a fucking lie. ❤️
In this episode, you'll hear about the Inner Mean Girl and the Inner Goddess, subconscious beliefs and the things we learned to believe about ourselves, how thoughts affect feelings and energy, meditation and awareness, feeling versus feeding an emotion, the Buddhist teaching of the two arrows, and why the voice in your head really can become a whole lot quieter.
Thank you for listening to The Manifesting Formula. If this episode made you think of someone whose Inner Mean Girl could use a little less microphone time 😂, send it their way. And if you've been enjoying the podcast, I would love it if you'd take a minute to leave a rating or review. It helps more people discover our little corner of the podcast world. ❤️
