“Mistakes can help us learn, but that does not mean we should make a mess on purpose.”
Grumblegut and Trolla hear Sparky say, “You can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs.” She means that when you try something new, things sometimes go wrong, and that is how you learn. Unfortunately, Grumblegut and Trolla understand it very differently!
In this hilarious kids story podcast, they decide that making an omelette must involve breaking as many things as possible:
- 🐔 They break Granny’s chicken coop while collecting eggs.
- 🍳 They pull apart Sylvaris’s kitchen looking for pans and spoons.
- 🥚 Eggs land on heads, in ears and almost everywhere except the bowl.
- 🤧 Trolla’s enormous sneeze sends the omelette flying onto the ceiling!
Soon the kitchen is full of broken plates, flour, slime, runaway chickens and one omelette stuck above everyone’s heads. Grumblegut and Trolla are delighted because they think they have followed Sparky’s advice perfectly!
Sparky finally explains the real meaning of the saying: trying something new may involve mistakes, but pointless damage teaches you nothing. After a long afternoon fixing everything they broke, Grumblegut and Trolla discover that sometimes the sensible way really is the easiest way.
