- Wayne Quinn vanished on April 20, 1991, at age twenty-two; his truck was found two days later with keys in the ignition less than a mile from the Fenwick Loop trailhead.
- Sergeant Morris Patton recovered Wayne's left hand in the culvert in summer 1991 and sealed three hairs in a brown paper envelope that stayed with him until his death.
