The UN Sustainable Development Goals have provided a common framework for addressing global challenges since 2015. But organizations have often approached them through individual initiatives rather than embedding them into their core management processes. With 2030 approaching, ISO 53001 provides a more systematic approach.
ISO 53001 is a management system standard that helps organizations identify the SDGs and targets relevant to them, set objectives, measure progress and drive continual improvement.
In this episode, Matthew speaks with expert and standards-maker Anita Punwani about how the standard can help organizations put the SDGs into practice. They discuss leadership, implementation, integration with existing management systems, the 2030 deadline and what success will look like.
