  • 'Focus less on reporting activity and more on explaining impact': Technip Energies' Phillip Lindsay on separating signal from noise
    2026/07/29

What does it take to go from awards bridesmaid to double winner in a single year? Phillip Lindsay, VP of investor relations at Technip Energies, says that the key is being able to separate the signal from the noise.

After eight years building his IR career - five and a half of them at Technip Energies - Lindsay's team went from three shortlisted nominations at the 2025 IR Impact Awards with nothing to show for it, to walking away this year with two: best overall investor relations (mid cap) and best investor relations officer (mid cap).

In this episode, he shares the philosophy that's driven that turnaround, starting with a hard truth about how most IR teams handle investor feedback. Too many, he argues, hand over raw sentiment data without any interpretation of what it actually means or how representative it is, leaving noise where there should be signal.

We talk through his path to the top of the IR function at the French, Euronext Paris-listed engineering and technology company serving the energy and chemicals sectors, his approach to separating what matters from what doesn't, and why this particular award season landed at such a meaningful moment, both for the company and for him personally.

  • How IR teams' use of AI is evolving, from the AI & Technology Forum in London
    2026/04/29

IR Impact recently hosted its AI and Technology Forum in London, bringing together senior investor relations professionals, technology leaders and market experts to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping IR today and what lies ahead.

The forum focused on the practical realities of AI adoption in IR, moving beyond hype to address how teams are already using technology to enhance disclosure, improve investor engagement and streamline workflows. Throughout the day, speakers shared real-world examples of where AI is delivering value, alongside candid discussions about its limitations, risks and governance implications.

We caught up with several IROs and technology experts on the sidelines of the event to find out more about what they had learned, where they see AI taking the profession and why anyone should come to an IR Impact event near them.

  • Why do IR teams prefer London as a roadshow destination?
    2026/03/10

Where are companies travelling when they go on the road? Which brokers are putting on the best roadshows? Which members of the C-suite are putting in more time for these vital events and are they more likely to attend in-person or virtually?

These are some of the questions answered in the Global Roadshow Report 2026, our annual deep-dive into how IR teams are thinking about their roadshow plans.

Joining Laurie Havelock this episode is Garnet Roach, IR Impact's deputy editor, who tells us about the top findings from this reseach - including why London has emerged as a global favourite destination for IR teams.

We also look at the headlines from the recent IR Benchmarking Report, also published by IR Impact.
