We're back! Once again, we return from a rather lengthy hiatus with a very special episode! After a whole lot more reading than is usually required for one of these (see links below), Zach presents the true story of Operation Fast and Furious, the real-world government scandal we've alluded to a few times on the show. And Joseph, of course, will be playing the role of the audience, because he didn't do any of the homework. Featuring shadowy government agencies, superweapon development, a plethora of crimes, and of course fast cars-- it has all the makings of a Fast and Furious movie, except for a happy ending. Because of the truthful nature of this episode's content, it's a little heavier at times than you might be expecting, but we hope you'll stick with us as we present Operation: Fast & Furious.

A big thank you once again to our brother David for the "original" piano music featured in this episode!

Content Warning: This episode discusses the September 11th terror attacks (00:09:28 - 00:14:14) and real-world gun violence, including the killing of law enforcement professionals (00:50:38 - 00:53:30, chapter title "Part 7: Tragedy"). If you'd like to skip either section, you can use the chapter markers (if your player supports them) or just scrub past the timestamps.

At long last, we've done it. Finally, years now after the original prophesy delivered to Zach in a dream, we've fulfilled our ultimate goal of watching the entire Fast franchise back-to-front. We've finally sat down and watched the original 2001 film, The Fast and the Furious. In some ways, it was exactly what we expected. But in some other important ways, it was almost nothing like what we expected. So how does it hold up against everything that came afterwards? What does it mean for the finale to come full circle to the beginning? In this, our season 3 finale and the fulfillment of our original promise, join us as we pull out all the stops for a true extravaganza episode. And thank you, as always, for listening.

Special thanks to our brothers and returning special guests, Michael and David!

We're finally almost ready to watch the first film, 2001's The Fast and the Furious. But before we can do that, we've got one last origin point to take a look at, some bonus content about the original film to analyze, and some important housekeeping to get out of the way. We discuss the true story of the 1998 VIBE Magazine article Racer X, which inspired the first film, and also bonus material for The Fast and the Furious: an alternate ending, as well as some interviews regarding the real world of street racing! Finally, we wrap this one up with an in-depth discussion of the (unofficial) completely authoritative one true timeline of the Fast Saga, and nail down our official tier rankings of all the films in this franchise that we've seen so far. So buckle up for one last ride before our season finale, and our discussion of The Fast and the Furious!
