I Dont Care What Ya’ll Say, I’m Not Ready to Let Go!
Letting BabyGirl go off to college was one of the most difficult times of my life. I’m still working to let go of the reigns and allow her to have more independence. Letting our kids go off to college is scary, but we have to help prepare them for that moment in their lives. My good girlfriend Lucinda, shares her experiences letting her daughter and son go off to college and give us words of wisdom. Then we’ll hear from BabyGirl herself to see how she’s doing and how she’s transitioning into her first month of school.
Tips to Letting Go:
- Don’t make them be the bearer of your “stuff”.
- Build a network of support around your child.
- Set a “check-in” date & time and honor that.
- Remember, you’ve taught them well and trust that God will take care of the rest
- And if you feel like you’re swimming upstream without a paddle, don’t be afraid to get into therapy…. It WORKS!
