    As a player, Valentine suited up for the Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels, San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Seattle Mariners. He later became one of baseball’s most memorable managers, leading the Texas Rangers, New York Mets, and Boston Red Sox, while also making history overseas by managing the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan.
