Over to Santa Barbara County, where the southwestern and southeastern coasts are expecting low rip current risk today with gentle one to two foot surf. It's a mellow day on this end of the coast. Water temperatures sit at sixty-one to sixty-two degrees. Tides follow a similar pattern to the rest of the region with highs around eleven in the morning. Now, if you're thinking about heading out to San Luis Obispo or the Santa Barbara Central Coast, you're looking at two to four foot surf today with a mix of south swell and northwest swell creating some nice variety. Water's a bit cooler at fifty-seven to fifty-nine degrees, but the conditions are solid for an active day on the water. Looking ahead to Thursday, things are really going to pick up, especially as we push into the evening hours. The Malibu and LA County beaches will see moderate rip current risk with two to four foot surf throughout the day. Ventura County is also expecting moderate rip current risk with surf building from two to four feet in the morning up to three to five feet by afternoon. Santa Barbara's southwestern and southeastern coasts will also see moderate rip current risk with surf climbing from one to three feet up to two to four feet by afternoon. And here's where it gets exciting. San Luis Obispo and the Santa Barbara Central Coast are going to see significant swell development on Thursday. We're expecting three to six foot surf in the morning, and this is going to build dramatically to five to nine feet by evening.
