In this episode of Hunting 4 Answers: In September 1994, 42-year-old Deborah Taylor traveled from Virginia Beach to Northern Virginia with her longtime boyfriend. After checking into a hotel, Deborah called her mother. It would be the last known communication from her. Her boyfriend later said Deborah had taken a taxi and left him. And six days later, he was dead. When authorities returned to the hotel room where the couple had stayed, they found blood on the mattress and walls, but Deborah was never found. More than three decades later, her disappearance remains unsolved.

Then, a social media post reached the right person, ultimately leading investigators to 25-year-old Makaila Luckey. But identifying Makaila only answered one of the questions surrounding her case. As of this recording, her homicide remains unsolved, and police are still looking for information about her final days, including where she was and who she may have been with.

In this episode of Hunting 4 Answers: In May 1976, 20-year-old Jennifer Joyce Barton was last seen getting into a brown or tan van with two men in Austin, Texas. The van had California license plates, and a friend later saw it circle the block. But when she looked inside, she couldn't see Jennifer. In the months before Jennifer vanished, she was reportedly afraid for her safety, and someone had broken into and vandalized her apartment. Jennifer was also one of four young Black women who disappeared from the Austin area that year. Investigators looked at whether some of the cases could be connected, but no connection has ever been publicly established. More than 50 years later, Jennifer has never been found.

More than a month later, her death was ruled a homicide, and investigators revealed that they believe Tasia had already been killed before her body was hanged from the tree. Three men have since been charged with murder, but major questions remain, including exactly how Tasia died and why her body was hanged after her death. The investigation remains ongoing, and all three defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

But after her Breeze Card failed, surveillance video showed her walking back toward the airport. Nearly a month later, Shanequa was found deceased in the Yellow River, about 40 miles away. What happened after she was last seen at the airport remains unclear. More than eight years later, investigators are still trying to determine how Shanequa got to Newton County and who killed her.
