This episode has a content and trigger warning for school shooting discussion and language.

March 27th, 2023 was a tragic and horrifying day in Nashville after 6 people, including 3 kids, were killed in a school shooting at The Covenant School. The days and weeks after were heavy and fueled with many intense emotions. Nashville residents came together in beautiful ways to provide resources, care, advocacy, and action. Many expressed emotional exhaustion at the intensity of navigating collective tragedies.

On this episode, host Kristina Hart invites Nashville native and local therapist Junie Welsh, MA, NCC, LADAC II to discuss how to take care of yourself when it feels like the world is on fire. They talk helpful inner-child work practices, a day in the life of a therapist, how they both responded post-crisis, and what to do when it feels like nothing is enough. Junie shares practical self-care tips and Kristina is so grateful to have her on the show.
