Why is it so hard to receive love, even when it’s freely given by people you love to be around? If you’ve ever waved off a compliment or found yourself weighing someone’s love against everything you’re still working on, then this episode is calling you in like a Siren’s call.
In this episode of Practical x Woo, we explore how to receive love (and accept love more fully) by developing what I’m naming your “love receptor”. We’ll look at the difference between being inherently lovable and being wanted, how childhood experiences can shape the way we accept love as adults, and why most of us see ourselves through far harsher eyes than the people who love us do. We’ll also explore why love that doesn’t match your sense of self-worth can feel hard to believe, and how accountability and feeling loved can exist side by side.
You’ll leave with five practices for receiving love, from catching the stories you tell yourself to saying “thank you” without a disclaimer. You don’t have to be perfect to be worthy of love, and this episode is an invitation to inherently learn and know that.
So, let’s dive in!
