The eating disorder voice often gets loudest at the exact moments you're trying hardest to recover. This eating disorder recovery message is about how to externalize the ED voice and stay recovery-aligned.
You might know intellectually that the eating disorder voice isn't you, while simultaneously feeling unable to tell where you end and it begins.
You might be negotiating with it all day, obeying its demands just for a moment of peace/relief, arguing back until you're exhausted, believing its thoughts are your own, or wondering who you'd even be without it...
If the ED voice has been getting louder recently, this video is for you. I'm talking about what externalizing actually means, how to separate yourself from the eating disorder voice, and how to respond differently when it starts shouting over your recovery.
This is your reminder that the voice is not your identity. You can hear it loudly and still choose recovery.
For anyone navigating a loud ED voice, constant food noise, recovery doubts, or the fear that the thoughts will never stop, I hope this gives you somewhere to turn when things get overwhelming. Subscribe for weekly eating disorder recovery insights, and comment below with a topic you would like me to cover in future episodes!
🎧 Whether you're struggling with fear foods, weight gain anxiety, extreme hunger, body checking, post-meal guilt, or relapse thoughts, each episode is here to help you reconnect with recovery and build lasting freedom around food and your body.
