Have you ever had God close a door that wasn't bad?
It was comfortable. It was safe. Maybe you even loved it. But deep down, you knew God was asking you to loosen your grip.
In this episode, I'm sharing the very personal story behind walking away from my pediatric nursing career after 10 years and why sometimes the hardest things to surrender aren't the bad things. They're the good things we've started depending on for security.
I'm taking you back to where Gather the Gals began: postpartum, COVID, anxiety, loneliness, and a quiet prompting from God that if I couldn't find the community I desperately needed, maybe He was asking me to create it.
But the vision didn't happen overnight.
Years passed. Babies came. Life changed. I continued nursing. Gather continued growing. And eventually I found myself trying to carry motherhood, work, ministry, family schedules, and a calling I knew God was asking me to take seriously.
Then the door started closing.
And I had to decide: Do I keep fighting to hold onto something good because it makes me feel safe, or trust the God asking me to let it go?
If you're in a season where God seems to be closing a door before showing you what's on the other side, this episode is for you.
Scripture: Joshua 1:9
🤎 A question to sit with this week:
Is there something good I'm holding onto because it makes me feel secure, even though God may be asking me to release it?
And remember: delay does not mean the dream was wasted. God can use every season leading up to your yes.
