Cancer cells often have low levels of the enzyme catalase, which normally breaks down hydrogen peroxide into harmless water and oxygen. When vitamin C is given intravenously at high doses, much of it converts to hydrogen peroxide outside the cells. Healthy cells neutralize this easily thanks to abundant catalase; many cancer cells cannot, leading to oxidative stress and potential damage.
Dr. Bradford references University of Iowa research (highlighted in a 2017 Science Daily piece) explaining why earlier vitamin C cancer studies often failed—frequently due to improper delivery and dosing (oral vs. IV). He also covers practical oral “tolerance” dosing for everyday immune support and shares why vitamin C remains a powerful tool for both infection recovery and selective cancer-cell stress.
