How do we know when people really trust us? One of the clearest indications is whether they're willing to be honest with us, especially when they've made a mistake, disagree with us, or have something difficult to tell us.
As executives, business owners, and entrepreneurs, we have a responsibility to create an environment where people feel comfortable telling us what's really going on.
In this video, I discuss what it takes to build trust, how our responses can strengthen or damage relationships, and why being willing to have difficult conversations matters.
We'll also explore how past experiences can influence the way we interpret someone's words and actions, how misunderstandings develop, and what it takes to repair trust when something goes wrong.
Building trust requires humility, compassion, honesty, accountability, and a willingness to listen and understand before responding.
Trust isn't built by never having problems. It's built by what we do when problems come.
