In this episode of Political Bomb Show, Ra’ Sean Blyden breaks down the House passage of H.R. 9576, the National Fraud Enforcement Division Act of 2026, which passed by a bipartisan 352–72 vote on September 16, 2026.

The legislation would formally establish the National Fraud Enforcement Division within the Department of Justice, an office already operating under Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald, who became its first leader in April 2026.

The stakes are enormous. The Government Accountability Office estimates that federal fraud losses range from roughly $233 billion to $521 billion every year, based on data from fiscal years 2018 through 2022.

The DOJ has already pointed to major enforcement actions, including a nationwide healthcare fraud takedown in which 455 defendants were charged in alleged schemes involving more than $6.5 billion.

Ra’ Sean examines what the overwhelming House vote means, why fraud enforcement found rare bipartisan support, and the episode’s larger criticism that Congress can still leave major unfinished business behind even after passing widely supported legislation.

352–72. Billions in alleged fraud. A rare bipartisan vote. But was the job really finished?
