  • The Clancy Trial: Kevin Reddington UNFILTERED! Kevin Reddington Hero To Women, Nemesis Of The Media
    2026/09/01

Lindsay Clancy's attorney Kevin "Big Red" Reddington lashes out at irresponsible accusations from the media. As the Lindsay Clancy jury struggles to reach a verdict, Billy Bush is joined by Karen Goldberg, a courtroom observer who has traveled three hours each way to attend the trial — and whose deeply personal connection to mental illness and postpartum psychosis explains why this case means so much to her. Goldberg became recognizable to viewers as the woman seated behind Brittany Romano — the so-called “girl in the green dress” — and found herself facing online criticism after cameras captured a brief smile inside the courtroom. But there is much more to her story. Karen is a mother of eight with a family history deeply affected by mental illness. Her father experienced a psychotic break when she was young, and in 2005, one of Karen’s friends died by suicide just 13 days after giving birth following postpartum psychosis. That experience never left her. Karen explains why she originally planned to attend the Lindsay Clancy trial for only a day or two — and how an unexpected encounter with Lindsay’s parents changed her mind and convinced her to return to the courtroom throughout the trial. Billy and Karen discuss the intense reaction to spectators caught smiling on camera, what it is actually like inside the Plymouth County courtroom, and why brief moments captured by television cameras may not tell the full story about the people sitting in the gallery. Karen also shares her firsthand impressions of Kevin Reddington, the defense attorney who has become a larger-than-life figure during the trial, and explains what she has observed about his relationship with Lindsay Clancy and her supporters. Then Karen gives Billy her read on the jury. She describes the jurors’ reactions during testimony, moments that appeared to visibly affect them, and what she witnessed as the jury reported that it had been unable to reach a decision and was sent back to continue deliberating. With the possibility of a hung jury growing, the conversation returns to the question at the center of this case: How should the criminal justice system confront severe mental illness and postpartum psychosis while never losing sight of the three children whose deaths brought everyone into this courtroom? This is an eyewitness perspective from inside one of the most closely watched trials in the country — and the personal story behind one woman who felt she had to be there. • Death of The Pastor's Wife: The Reporter Who Confronted J.P. Miller
    2026/09/01

Netflix’s The Death of the Pastor’s Wife has put the Mica Miller case back in the national spotlight. Now investigative journalist Rich McHugh, one of the key journalists featured in the documentary, joins Billy Bush to reveal what he learned while investigating J.P. Miller — including what happened when he finally sat down with the controversial pastor face-to-face.

McHugh began investigating Mica’s death in 2024, speaking with her family while simultaneously communicating directly with J.P. Miller. After months of trying, McHugh eventually convinced Miller to sit for an extensive interview.

What followed was unlike anything McHugh says he had experienced in thousands of interviews.

Billy and Rich examine the allegations of coercive control, stalking, emotional and sexual abuse, religious manipulation and surveillance that surrounded Mica’s marriage and her attempts to leave it. They also discuss Mica’s mental-health treatment, her efforts to regain control of her life, and the videos she made documenting what she said she was experiencing.

Then there are the unanswered questions surrounding Mica’s death.

McHugh retraced Mica’s final movements to Lumber River State Park and explains why certain details still trouble him — including the location of Mica’s body in relation to her belongings and questions he believes deserved greater scrutiny.

Billy also plays portions of McHugh’s remarkable interview with J.P. Miller, including Miller’s description of his marriage and his answer when asked whether there was anything he would have done differently.

McHugh explains what those answers revealed to him and discusses an email in which he says Miller addressed some of the conduct Mica had accused him of.

The conversation also turns to the federal criminal case against J.P. Miller. Miller was indicted in December 2025 on cyberstalking and false-statement charges and pleaded not guilty. His federal case has since faced repeated delays.

Importantly, J.P. Miller has not been charged in connection with Mica Miller’s death.

Why did Mica’s story resonate with so many people? Could her case change how the law addresses coercive control? And after everything Rich McHugh uncovered, what questions does he believe still need answers?

Rich McHugh joins Billy Bush for an in-depth look inside the Mica Miller story, the investigation, his extraordinary interview with J.P. Miller, and the case that continues to raise questions two years later.

  • Amy Griffin, The Tell: The Dueling Lawsuits, The Latest Updates
    2026/08/31

The legal battle over Amy Griffin’s bestselling memoir The Tell is escalating, and the latest discovery fight could force some of the book’s biggest unanswered questions into the open.

Billy Bush breaks down the dueling lawsuits involving Griffin and Jolene Altum, formerly known publicly as Jane Doe, who alleges that elements of the childhood trauma described in The Tell originated with her own experiences.

Now Altum’s attorneys are seeking a significant amount of material from Griffin — including the identity of “Real Claudia,” the mysterious postcard described in the book, manuscript drafts and revisions, communications with ghostwriter Sam Lansky, investigative materials, the original book proposal, MDMA therapy-related records, financial information involving psychedelic-therapy companies, and potential NDAs involving people connected to Griffin’s story.

Griffin, meanwhile, is pursuing discovery of her own and seeking depositions from several people connected to Altum’s claims, including New York Times journalists who investigated the story.

Billy also examines Griffin’s request for ex parte protective relief and the growing fight over what information should remain confidential, what should be disclosed, and which identities should remain protected.

At the heart of it all is a question we’ve been following from the beginning: Who is the real Claudia — and why has her identity become such a fiercely contested part of this case?

With major discovery hearings approaching and settlement appearing increasingly unlikely, the battle over The Tell may be moving closer to the documents, witnesses and evidence that could finally test the competing versions of this extraordinary story.

Hot Mics with Billy Bush continues its investigation into Amy Griffin, Jolene Altum and The Tell.
