  • Highland League Weekly – Episode 10 | Cup Final THRILLER! Fraserburgh Go Top
    2025/10/07

We dive into a week of limited but crucial action.

First, we break down the dramatic Evening Express Aberdeenshire Cup Final between Formartine United and Aberdeen at Harlaw Park. Despite terrible weather, the game was a exciting final, ending 2-2 before being decided by penalties. We discuss the impact of the conditions, Aberdeen's eventual victory (their first since September 2004) , and the lingering disappointment for Formartine, who are "coming so close" in finals.

Then, we switch to the single league game of the weekend where Fraserburgh beat the weather and Brechin City 1-0 at Glebe Park. We analyse how the "Broch posed the greater threat" and "merited their victory". This result sends Fraserburgh to the top of the league table , cementing their status as the current "form team". We also look at Brechin's continued struggle against Fraserburgh and what this missed opportunity means for them.
