About the audio

I attempted to create the first separate English audio track using your preferred male voice at 0.9× speed. However, the audio service reports that your free voice-generation allowance is currently exhausted and renews next month. No audio file was created. I can continue preparing the written lessons in the meantime.

1. English story

The Value of a Promise

When Daniel accepted a new position in a distant town, he promised his elderly neighbour, Mrs. Ellis, that he would visit her whenever he returned.

The first months were demanding. Daniel worked late, travelled often, and gradually allowed his promise to slip from his mind.

One winter evening, however, he found an old letter among his papers. It contained a short note from Mrs. Ellis, thanking him for his kindness and wishing him success.

Daniel suddenly remembered that she had no close family nearby. The following weekend, he took the train to his former neighbourhood.

Mrs. Ellis opened the door with surprise, then welcomed him warmly. They spent the afternoon talking about ordinary things: the weather, the garden, and people they both remembered.

As Daniel left, he understood that keeping a promise does not always require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it simply means making time for another person.

From then on, he visited her regularly.
