In which the devoted Laodamia pens a heartfelt letter to her husband Protesilaus, lamenting his departure for the Trojan war and the cruel winds that hinder his journey, while expressing her deep anxieties and tender hopes for his safe return. She entwines tender wishes with vivid fears, invoking the gods and recalling shared intimacies, as she clings to an image of him to soothe her restless heart in his absence.
