This episode is a blessing and a prayer to the summer in your heart. Having just crossed into the season on the heels of a solstice that felt like sweet medicine, I reflect on the turning of the wheel and the particular gift this time of year offers: permission to revel in the warmth, the light, and the beauty, and to shine your fullest, most authentic self.

This is, in fact, exactly what life needs from us. To be and create Beauty.

Join me as we reclaim Beauty from the narrow clutches of the dominant culture and return it to what the flowers have always known - that beauty blossoms from within and inspires life to grow outside of itself. Lauren Morgan is an herbalist, dreamer, Earth-based ceremonialist, mother, author and teacher in the Olympic mountains. She teaches folk and plant spirit herbalism and hosts dream circles and courses. She is the author of the book Seasonal Herbalism and is creatrix and host of the Herbs and Dreams Podcast.

Kris Haraldson is an herbalist, shadow work coach, teacher, healer and general badass who loves helping women wake up to realizing they don't need to be anyone other than who they are. Kris walks us through her early quest to understand stories about women, how we conceptualize ourselves and how we can break free. Her life has been guided by the questions:

• What are the stories we carry and how do they impact us?
• How does other people's reaction to our stories impact our sense of self?
• What about the stories we inherit from religion, the overculture, etc?

Kris was in the throes of studying psychology in a very cerebral academic setting when she started having visions that she had no context for. Sitting in her graduate classes flashes of quietly gathering plant medicines while feeling at peace and connected filled her mind's eye.

This eventually lead to Goddess worship which helped her reconstruct an identity of womanhood that included the arts of herbalism, shamanism, energy work and intuitive work. Her experiences blew open her little researcher brain in ways she could not explain. It rooted her into her body then guided her into the terrain of shadow work.

We also dive deep on:

• the shortcomings of identifying with our trauma
• the power of medicinal relationships and growing up out of our childhood wounding
• how in the midst of an individualist culture, the plants and Mother Earth can fill the communal relational role within our psyches to help us heal.
• our favorite herbs to support trauma
• how the wild woman shows up in our bodies and menstrual cycles
• how when women learn to work with the wild woman aspect of ourselves, our health will change and the world will change
