You know the feeling. Someone asks how you're doing, and there's a split second where you have to decide: do I say "fine," or do I actually tell them everything? This show is the space for the second answer. Women carry an enormous amount, and most of the time we do it without complaining, without even talking about it, without anyone actually on our team. There used to be a village for that. A campfire to sit around, tell the real story, and have someone say "me too." Most of us don't have that anymore, so we end up scrolling at three in the morning instead, searching for someone who's felt what we're feeling, and coming up empty. Around this fire, you'll hear what it's actually like to get a cancer diagnosis with a newborn still on your hip. You'll hear what it's like to go on a reality TV dating show and come home to find millions of strangers screaming at you as the villain. You'll hear the grief of loving and losing a child you don't get to keep, the kind that doesn't resolve, it just becomes part of how you carry everything else. And you'll hear the addiction that started as just taking the edge off, until it meant not being able to pick your own child up from school. And so many more moments that never made it past "I'm fine." This is the village, rebuilt. Hosted by Chloe Davidson. Nothing here is cleaned up for comfort. **About your host** Chloe Davidson isn't an expert. She's just someone who got sick of surface conversations, and sick of carrying it all without a team. She's lived through multiple miscarriages, secondary infertility, and years of IVF, all while standing beside her husband through his own cancer diagnosis, largely without anyone asking how she was really doing. She built this campfire because she believes women deserve a village again: people witnessing the moments they never get to talk about, not the glossy parts, but what they actually lived through and how they picked themselves back up. Sometimes someone finally listening is the whole thing.Copyright 2025 Her Kind of Brave Podcast マネジメント・リーダーシップ リーダーシップ 心理学 心理学・心の健康 社会科学 経済学 衛生・健康的な生活

  • Who Looks After the Woman Looking After Everyone Else? | Linda Angledal on Losing Her Mum to Cancer, Caring for Her Dad with Alzheimer's & Raising a New Baby Alone
    2026/07/26
In this powerful episode of Her Kind of Brave, Chloe and Kellie sit down with artist, florist and solo mum Linda Angledal for a deeply moving conversation about the motherhood she never expected. After years of wondering if she'd ever have a child, Linda finally welcomed her daughter into the world as a solo mum. But instead of beginning motherhood surrounded by the support she'd imagined, life changed almost overnight. Within her daughter's first year, Linda was caring for her mum through terminal pancreatic cancer, supporting her brother through chronic illness and repeated hospitalisations, and caring for her father as Alzheimer's gradually changed the man she'd always known.Rather than simply reflecting on everything she endured, Linda shares the lessons those years taught her about caregiver burnout, the invisible mental load, setting boundaries, accepting help, and why we were never meant to carry life's hardest seasons alone.Whether you're caring for children, ageing parents, a partner, a friend—or simply feel like you're the one everyone depends on—this is a conversation about finding the courage to ask for help before you reach breaking point.Guest Bio: Linda Angledal is a Gold Coast-based singer-songwriter, florist, photographer, creative and solo mum.Through her floral business, Angel Valley Flowers, and her original music, Linda creates work inspired by love, loss, hope and the resilience of the human spirit. After stepping away from music for several years, she has recently returned to songwriting and performing, using creativity as both a source of healing and connection. You can connect with Linda on Instagram at @angelvalley_flowers, and listen to her original music on Spotify, including Soul of My Soul and Seeker.Support the brands that keep these brave conversations going:MONASH IVF Call 1800 628 533CENTRE FOR REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE & SURGERY - (Dr Kee Ong) –Call 07 5519 1602@drkeeongIN HER OWN WORDS: IVF, LOSS & MIRACLES BOOK:@Inherownwords_officialhttps://amzn.in/d/c2wsW2JKOSIkosi.au@kosi_auUse discount code HERKINDOFBRAVE15 for 15% off (exclusions apply)MR CONSISTENThttps://www.mrconsistent.com.au/@mrconsistent_BESPOKE LONGEVITY –bespokelongevity.com.au@bespokelongevity_👉 Mention “Her Kind of Brave” for $50 off any treatmentWhere to find us:Be sure to join the chat in our Community Group www.facebook.com/groups/herkindofbrave/Follow us on Instagram @herkindofbrave_podcast and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/herkindofbraveDo you have a brave story, or are you looking to sponsor an upcoming episode?
