The principal focus of today's discussion revolves around the intricacies of turkey hunting, particularly emphasizing the importance of understanding hen movement in relation to tom behavior. I elucidate that, much like elk, the movements of turkeys are significantly influenced by the hens, with toms following their lead. By meticulously observing and patterning the travel routes, feeding habits, watering sites, loafing areas, and roosting locations of hens, we are effectively delineating the paths that toms will likely traverse. The art of calling is not merely about creating new pathways but rather about enticing the tom to deviate from its established route, thereby increasing the likelihood of a successful hunt.
