  • EP 173: Choosing Addiction | Tyler's Story
    2026/09/02
Welcome to Episode 173 of Hell Has an Exit. Tyler Wilson knew what he wanted from an early age, and unfortunately, that meant drugs. What started with weed and pills as a kid quickly escalated into meth, heroin, needles, overdoses, hospital stays, and a life that was becoming harder and harder to escape. By 18, Tyler had already overdosed in a Taco Bell bathroom. He battled addiction, homelessness, deteriorating health, broken relationships, and multiple attempts at getting clean before finally realizing that recovery had to be different this time. At 23, Tyler returned to South Florida for treatment with a plan: stop worrying about everything outside those four walls and completely commit to rebuilding his life. Nearly seven years later, the kid who once couldn't see a future beyond getting high is now using the same experiences that nearly killed him to help people still living on the streets and struggling with addiction. Tyler sits down with Teddy to talk about the insanity of active addiction, meth and heroin, overdosing, getting clean in South Florida, sober living, mental health, rebuilding his life from nothing, and why sometimes helping someone doesn't mean telling them what to do. It means meeting them exactly where they're at. From addiction and rock bottom to purpose, discipline, and giving back, this is Tyler Wilson's story. Hell has an exit. You just have to find it. • EP 172: I Wanted Everyone Who Wronged Me Crying at My Funeral | October's Story
    2026/08/25
In Episode 172 of Hell Has an Exit, Bryan sits down with October, a 21-year-old from Brooklyn whose story shows just how quickly addiction can take over a life. Growing up surrounded by addiction, instability, and trauma, October was introduced to recovery long before she ever needed it herself. But by her teenage years, drugs had become part of her own story. After moving to New York City at 17, what initially felt like partying and freedom quickly spiraled into something much darker. By 19, October was using fentanyl, experiencing repeated overdoses, losing friends, and reaching a point where she knew she might not survive much longer. One desperate moment in Coney Island, followed by an ultimatum from her mother, ultimately forced her to make a choice: continue down the same path or get on a plane to Florida and give recovery a chance. Now two years clean, October opens up about what happened after the drugs stopped, the uncomfortable reality of early recovery, learning to take accountability, and slowly becoming someone she actually wants to be. This episode is raw, funny, heartbreaking, and a reminder that sometimes an entire life can change before it’s even really begun. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • EP 171: I Saw The Devil, Then I Saw God | Mel's Story
    2026/08/23
In Episode 171 of Hell Has an Exit, Bryan sits down with Mel for a raw story of addiction, crime, motherhood, faith, and an unbelievable second chance. Mel’s struggles began young, eventually pulling her into IV drug use, dangerous environments, arrests, and a lifestyle completely controlled by addiction. Becoming a mother gave her something worth fighting for, but even that wasn’t enough to immediately stop the spiral. At her lowest, addiction had taken nearly everything from her, including her ability to be the mother she wanted to be. After years of arrests, criminal charges, and close calls, one moment finally changed the direction of her life. What happened next became the beginning of a completely different story. Today, Mel has rebuilt a life that once seemed impossible, finding recovery, reconnecting with her faith and family, and building a successful career in the legal world, ironically on the opposite side of a system she once knew all too well. From addiction and incarceration to motherhood, recovery, and a future she never imagined for herself, Mel’s story is proof of just how much a life can change. Learn more about your ad choices.
