Every day, competing voices demand our attention and devotion.

In 1 Thessalonians 1:1–10, Dr. Paul Sloan explores how the Thessalonian believers turned from idols to serve the living God, even at considerable personal cost. Their example challenges us to recognize the modern idols that compete for our hearts and reminds us that what we worship shapes who we become.

Through Christ and the Holy Spirit, we can learn to recognize God’s voice, put Him first, and experience the peace that comes when everything else finds its proper place.

Jesus’ parable of the wedding banquet presents both the radical generosity of God’s invitation and the transforming call of his kingdom.

In Matthew 22:1–14, Dr. Paul Sloan examines the wedding feast, the rejected invitation, and the guest without a wedding garment to show how grace and repentance belong together. Christ is given freely to those who have not earned him, yet his presence transforms his people so they can walk in newness of life—a life shaped by the righteousness, mercy, patience, and love of God.
